Today, Full Court Press Communications (FCP) announced the arrival of Suzanne Spencer, FCP’s newest Communications Counselor. Suzanne joins the team with more than seven years of communications strategy expertise in the philanthropic, nonprofit, and governmental sectors. At Full Court Press, Suzanne will support land conservation efforts with media outreach, writing, and strategic counsel. She will also work on public health and climate change amongst other issues.

FCP Chief Operations Officer, Sarah Hersh-Walker, said, “we are excited to bring Suzanne on board. Her experience leading communications for a community foundation will be an asset to our growing team.”

Prior to joining FCP, Suzanne led communications strategy at the Pike Place Market Foundation, a community foundation in Seattle. There, she honed her storytelling skills by showcasing the Market’s often-unknown social service agencies (including a senior center, food bank, health clinic, and preschool) in newsletters, blogs, videos, and social media campaigns. When the Pike Place Market Foundation launched a three-year capital campaign to expand community services, Suzanne analyzed regional data and developed a marketing strategy that successfully grew the Foundation’s donor base. Her efforts added more than 6,000 new supporters and exceeded fundraising goals. She also started the first community garden in Pike Place, growing produce and herbs for the Market’s senior center.

Suzanne recently completed a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington. Her successes in graduate school included designing a six month-long needs assessment of Seattle’s public transportation systems that identified key access barriers for immigrants and refugees. She also previously worked as an audit analyst with the US Government Accountability Office and as a mentor for nonprofit employees through a college service-learning program.

“I’m honored by the opportunity to join the FCP team, and eager to put my skills to work for our incredible array of clients,” said Suzanne Spencer.

The FCP team concurrently announced the promotion of Faye Saechao to the newly created role of Communications Associate / Visual Storyteller. Faye joined the FCP team last January as a Communications Fellow, bringing with her an eye for graphic design and photography, experience in storytelling, and social media expertise. Prior to joining FCP, Faye worked with a variety of Bay Area organizations such as the Public Health Institute and Crisis Support Services of Alameda County. At FCP, Faye has led graphics creation projects for clients including the Women’s Foundation of California and Parks California.

Faye’s specialties include:

  • Creating GIFs and eye-catching visuals for social media, email communications, and websites.

  • Designing and facilitating shareable Instagram stories.

  • Building brand identity through social media graphics.

“Faye’s ability to turn a client’s vision into an easily-accessible visual story is outstanding. Her skill, creativity, and drive to deliver innovative graphics make her a joy to work with. Expanding her role at FCP is a huge win for our team, and our clients,” said Dan Cohen, FCP Founder and Principal.
