Join the Full Court Press team as a Communications Fellow! This is an opportunity for professional development working at a strategic communications and public relations firm. This is a paid fellowship position with a requirement of 20-30 hours per week. The fellowship will run September 1 – December 18.
Full Court Press Communications (FCP) provides strategic communications counsel to foundations, businesses, education institutions, government agencies, advocacy coalitions, nonprofits, and more.
Our office is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday – Friday. Our staff is currently working remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. The person in this position may be based anywhere in the U.S. (though candidates in the Bay Area are preferred). Candidates must be available to work part-time within 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Pacific Time.
FCP’s Communications Fellow will have the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in public relations and strategic communications, including:
Participating in calls and meetings with clients;
Researching and building media lists;
Tracking and reporting on media coverage;
Creating social media materials;
Developing press materials and conducting outreach to reporters;
Contributing to the planning of events;
Providing general administrative support to the office;
Other assigned tasks as opportunities arise.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree. Prior work, volunteer, or leadership experience is desired.
Qualities desired in a candidate include the following:
A desire to learn communications and public relations skills;
An interest in effecting positive social change;
Strong writing and verbal communications skills;
Ability to produce quality work under short deadlines;
Familiarity with a variety of social media platforms;
Fluency in Spanish or other language skills is a plus.
