FCP also creates communications fellowship program; welcomes inaugural fellow
Oakland, Calif – Today, Full Court Press Communications (FCP) announced that Caitlin Scott will transition into the role of Communications Director. This is a new role for the firm. She will oversee the implementation of projects, advise clients, develop new business, and mentor FCP staff. Caitlin joined FCP in 2015 as a Communications Counselor.
“Clients rely on Caitlin for insightful counsel and relentless execution,” said Dan Cohen, Principal and Founder at FCP. “ In this role, she’ll continue to use these superpowers while helping to mentor the entire staff.”
Caitlin Scott has provided counsel to a variety of FCP clients with focuses ranging from economic justice and affordable housing, to community-building and ecosystem restoration. She is adept at media strategy and media relations, having placed stories for clients in the Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Mercury News, and the Sacramento Bee, among others. During her time at FCP, she led the successful launch of the Hewlett Foundation’s Open Rivers Fund, a program to support dam removal projects throughout the American West.
“I’m thrilled to take on this new role,” said Caitlin Scott, Communications Director at FCP. “I’ve been with FCP for four years, and each day I’m inspired by the work of our amazing clients. From protecting public lands to advocating for more affordable housing in the Bay Area – I truly believe that we are advancing social change through strategic communication. I’m so proud to be a part of this team.”
In addition, FCP created a new Communications Fellowship position. The fellowship provides the opportunity for those passionate about social change and strategic communications to gain hands-on experience with the FCP team. Faye Saechao is the firm’s inaugural fellow. She brings with her an eye for graphic design and photography, experience in storytelling, and social media expertise. Faye has worked with a variety of Bay Area organizations such as the Public Health Institute and Crisis Support Services of Alameda County.
“I’m looking forward to this exciting opportunity with FCP,” said Faye Saechao, Communications Fellow. “I have worked in the nonprofit field for many years, and have experience in storytelling, running social media campaigns, and creating visuals from a social change perspective. I look forward to sharing these skills with FCP’s clients and helping them to reach their communications goals. ”
